Hillary on the other hand had little in the way of new material. It was widely speculated that she used up most of her ammo during the first debate. That speculation seems to have been proved correct.
Year: 2016
The “What if?” Debate
Physicists suggest that there is not a single reality, but many– where every possible scenario get plaid out. Alternate timelines where the NAZI’s win the war, where the Federation is an evil empire and so on. The alternate reality sub-genera is one of the more intriguing, the where we get an answer to the question: “What if?” What if?… Donald could actually stay on message and never put his foot in his mouth? What if?… Hillary were actually likable enough to the non-Democrat that people actually liked to hear her speak?
The 2016 Presidential Debates Drinking Game
Drink every time any candidate breaks out into a coughing fit. (one drink per instance) Drink at any remark that gets booed. (counts for moderator remarks too) Drink every time the moderator “fact checks” a statement by one of the candidates.
Constitution Memorial Day
When the Constitution gets to the point where it can mean anything the justices need it to mean, it will at once come to mean nothing. We will be living in a post-constitutional America. The three Supreme Court justices that our next president is expected to appoint, if they are liberal, activist judges, will be more than enough to effectively end the era of the United States as a constitutional republic.
Happy Constitution Day 2016!
Keep the Constitution alive in your hearts- soon that may be the only place it will have any meaning.
Colin Kaepernick and friends continue a misguided protest
Are there issues facing this country that Kaepernick, his fellow athletes, and the rest of America should rightly speak out about? Of course. Protesting by taking a knee during the national anthem is their unquestioned right. The irony is the country that offers them that right ought to be respected for it. A further irony is that these professional athletes are rewarded for work in their chosen professions at a level that is far disproportionate to that of those who protect their rights. Their chosen form of protest does not show respect; it shows a fundamental misunderstanding of why Americans honor their country by standing for the Star Spangled Banner. The object is not to show total approval for their country, but to honor what it has been at its best, the great accomplishments of its people, and what it strives to be.
Jobs Americans won’t do?
Landscaping lead me to my next job, one to provide income during the winter months. It was to clean out vacant houses. That was perhaps the hardest, filthiest work I’ve ever done. You don’t want to know some of the conditions me and my coworkers had to work in at times. My coworkers by the way, were all American. I guess we didn’t get the memo that this sort of work could only be done by migrants or illegal immigrants.
Trump’s Hail Mary
I'm not his biggest fan, but Trump showed me something Wednesday. He showed me that he's willing to do the hard things, he's willing to put his candidacy on the line. Meanwhile, Hillary has been MIA for most of the past fortnight. She hasn't even gone to Louisiana after both Trump and President Obama went. Baton Rouge should be mostly dry by now, will she ever go?
The Politics of Division
The politics of division is the main weapon in the Democratic arsenal. Their strategy is simple: divide and conquer. They pick a voting bloc, along any lines it doesn’t matter, give them victim status then assign a villain. Then come the promises… Give the ‘victim’ a largess, and/or take punitive action against the alleged bad guy. The oppressor is always the larger party, usually they call them ‘big’ as in ‘big oil’, or ‘big pharma’, just so you know who to blame. As an aside, you’ll never hear reference to ‘big academia’ or ‘big government’ from the left as those are clients and are thus exempt.
