Canada was given a choice. Sadly, they have chosen tyranny. After teetering on the brink for a decade, they have elected to drop their status as a free nation, and for the worst of all reasons— to spite Trump. What we avoided here in the US is going to happen in Canada. The Left will consolidate their gains, and it may be a very long time before a Conservative or conservative government gains power in that country again.
