People today tend to think of Christianity, the Bible, as a rulebook, a mere list of things they can't do. But we as Christians don't celebrate on Christmas Day the birth of a rule book, or a rule giver, we celebrate the coming of a SAVIOR.

This is more than just a "feel good" movie. As a matter of fact, it will make you feel quite uneasy at times, as the subject matter of child exploitation can be hard to deal with. Sound of Freedom does a great job of telling this important story.

So, in life's Nativity play, we at times play the parts of the Shepherds, the Angels, and of our Father. Our tradition of gift-giving, receiving, and rejoicing over the whole thing is the value of the Christmas season.

Easter reminds us that just as Jesus was reborn as a higher eternal form of himself, that we can and must strive to do this same. Life and freedom are the twin gifts the Creator has given to us. As one or the other becomes diminished, their restoration, rebirth, resurrection, once started becomes a force of nature.
