Carson adds an air of civility while providing some meat to Donald’s thinner policies. Some of the doctor’s loyal followers, those who admire his reserved, quite strength and wisdom will have a tough time following him down this new path he has chosen.
Conservatism
News Brief, March 6th
Trump won Kentucky and Louisiana. Cruz won Kansas and Maine. Rubio won Puerto Rico. Trump now has 384 delegates, Ted Cruz 300 and Marco Rubio 151. 1,237 are needed to win the nomination.
The Week in Conservatism
South Carolina is now in the record books. Trump is once again the winner, despite dredging up Code Pink’s talking points against George W. Bush, and despite a dust-up with the Pope. Cruz has fallen to third and Rubio is back on track after the New Hampshire debacle. Jeb is out of the race. Believe it or not, that is how the process is supposed to work.
Antonin Scalia, the Constitution, and the Coming Storm
President Obama will likely nominate a candidate with a history of judicial activism. When the Senate initially rejects this nominee, he will call them obstructionist. He and much of the media will claim that they are attempting to deny him his Constitutional rights. Of course, this will be after he has exercised precisely that, his right to nominate a replacement for Justice Scalia.
New Hampshire: The establishment’s last stand?
Before Iowa, pundits theorized about Trump steamrolling the competition all the way to the nomination. The real steamroller, should he finish first, or even a strong second will be Marco Rubio.
The Argument for a Conservative Direction
Conservatism is the belief that our founding principles when held and applied, keep America strong and her people free.

2015 in Review: My favorite essay.
Way back in April, I wrote a two-part essay asking the question: Is America Really Free? I believe these two posts define one of the central themes of this blog. Unfortunately, Liberty Relearned was but a fledgling wog of a blog, without many followers to read them at the time. I really think they're worth re-posting as sort of a "best of" look back at 2015. Here are key excerpts from both. Hope you enjoy!
