Catching up on GOP politics this week…
I'm writing this having just returned to my hotel room in Greenville SC where I just got back from the Heritage Action for America "Take Back America" presidential forum. The last few days have been a little busy, of course I watched the debates on Wednesday, then it was right off to beautiful South Carolina for the event.
Exploiting the SC tragedy– already.
What conservatives are, (at least social conservatives) is Pro-Life. Who's life? Everyone's-- minus perhaps those Islamic extremist who would kill us and all not like them. I'm pretty sure no terrorists were attending that Baptist prayer group.

I first became politically aware during the 1980 Presidential race. Ronald Reagan was running against Jimmy Carter. Back then I had no concept of what it meant to be conservative or liberal, Republican or Democrat.

The raids, according to the article, were called for by a partisan political opponent of Governor Walker's, District Attorney John Chisholm, a Democrat. The Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights were purposefully written by the Founders as the antidotes to tyranny, and to prevent homegrown tyrants from replacing the ones they’d just thrown off.
So, what is American conservatism?
To be a conservative is to guard against any erosion of the Constitution's power. It is to hold the belief that following it should not be a choice, but the sworn duty of all government officials.
