Time to decide what kind of people we want to be.
Nor is an alleged non-understanding or rejection of science on the part of conservatives and libertarians the problem. The problem is in the mandate itself, coming not with the consent of the governed, but from the governmental elite, who consider themselves our moral and intellectual betters. Most Americans it turns out, don't like to be ordered around.

In this weeks podcasts I talk about how as the demonstrations over the Floyd killing have hit their peak impact and the possibility of diminishing returns of further protests. Explored are examples of systemic racism and if such a thing exists in today's America. They question of whether to mask or not to mask is finally answered. (sort of).
What would they think?
Yes, life itself is worth defending, but life itself is not what makes us in God's image. It is freedom, the freedom to choose, and yes, to fail that is worth fighting for. It is free will, not safety that allows humans to achieve greatness.
Opening America Back Up Without the Drama
Our leaders must establish clearly defined, objective, not subjective goals that once achieved automatically allow more and more freedom until virtually all of our pre-epidemic liberties have been restored.
What a Recovery Might Look Like, Pt 2
At this point, there will be a demand for objective numbers for beginning to lessen restrictions. The metrics should be based upon capacity versus use. The number should not be based upon there being zero deaths, as that would put the decision-makers in an impossible position.
Proposed: A COVID-19 Bill of Rights
Any restrictions of citizen's right to freely assemble, worship, or engage in commerce must include a sunset clause. There must be a date given that the measure will either expire or be renewed based upon conditions at the time.
