ng the patterns and general trajectory of the COVID 19 pandemic. Which strategies worked? Which ones didn't? Where does Omicron fit into all of this?
COVID-19
LR Podcast S2, E31: Omicron: Here we go again.
If the short, yet well-chronicled history of the COVID pandemic teaches us anything, is that news of the Omicron variant will be exploited as a reason to administer (read sell) more vaccine doses. It will be used as justification for all sorts of limits to our freedoms, even as the Western world grows sick, not from COVID, but of things like vaccine mandates and COVID apartheid.
For those keeping score, we’re now up to Omicron.
When the name Omicron fades from the headlines, as Delta did, it will be replaced. Thanks to COVID, we're all going to find out how many letters there are in the Greek alphabet.

LR Podcast, S2E20: Biden’s Authoritarian Speech

Summer/Delta Variant numbers looked to have peaked.
If we see a divergence between cases (going up) and deaths (going down) than that could mean vaccination is doing good at preventing death, but not cases. It could also mean that the dominant variant is weaker, less deadly. This would follow a common pattern of attenuation that viruses go thorough.
There will always be another variant.
We must recognize that COVD, while it should be taken seriously, the fear of it should not rule us, or cause us to turn on each other.
LR Podcast S2E18: Where did it all go wrong?
1913 is when among other things, the federal income tax was initiated, among a host of other progressive measures that have been building upon one another until this day. 1913 is the year when American statism became a thing.
LR Podcast, S2E16: The Lessons So Far, Pt 3
We must eventually choose between mask mandates, lockdowns, and other disruptive measures in perpetuity, or learn to live with COVID as we have myriad other potentially dangerous diseases.
