LR Podcast S2, E23: Garland’s Chilling Overreach

Recently, the head of the DOJ, Merrick Garland, has ordered the FBI to monitor alleged incidents of violence and intimidation. This is a move that is seen by many as an aggressive overreach on the part of the federal government into what should be local matters. This move is likely only to exacerbate the existing tensions between the left and the right. The left has over decades, and increasingly, been using higher education and the public school system as indoctrination centers.

Garland’s Chilling Overreach

If a school-board meeting gets out of hand, that is a matter for the local authorities. The Biden DOJ wants to literally make a federal case out of such incidents. This, as critics point out, would have a chilling effect on free speech.

Ayn Rand had CRT pegged over 50 years ago.

Racism, as a collectivist pursuit, was anathema to her strictly individualistic Objectivism. To her, all forms of collectivism be they socialism, fascism, or racism were immoral on the basis that collectivism on the national level, ultimately and inevitably leads to authoritarianism and the trampling of individual rights by the government. Racism therefore, would necessitate that same authoritarian brand of government that all other forms of collectivism required in order to sustain itself on a national level.

Memorial Day Message 2021

Will they, should the leftist have their way, and establish some sort of socialist or neo-fascist state be reduced to fighting for their homeland, with not much cause to spill a drop of blood for whatever collectivist ideology takes the place of individual freedom? What would be the rallying cry used to motivate persons to pick up arms in such a place? “FOR EQUITY!”? “FOR THE COLLECTIVE GOOD!”? or “DEATH TO THE INDIVIDUALISTS!”?

LR Podcast, S2E2: CRT and Thee

A natural one to exploit was the race struggle of blacks and other minorities in America. Modern socialism though Cultural Marxism/Critical Theory continually seeks out new "victim" groups to stoke tensions between them and the predominant group, so black against white, rich against poor, secular against the religious, etc.

Anti-Asian violence and CRT

Also, critical race theory declares that if one group outperforms another group socioeconomically, that the better performing group is doing it at the expense of the lesser performing groups. If CRT is telling people this, why should it come as any surprise when its believers start committing hate crimes against Asians who, as a group, are at the top of the economic ladder in this country?
